FAQ about ATEX ovens and custom industrial and laboratory equipment
Do you manufacture custom ATEX ovens?
Yes. At Selecta Engineering we design and build ATEX heating ovens and cooling equipment tailored to each project. Capacity, temperature range, internal layout and control system are defined according to the process. You can see some examples in our completed projects.
How do I know if my process needs an ATEX oven?
If the process uses or generates flammable gases, vapours or combustible dust, the risk of an explosive atmosphere forming must be assessed. The choice of equipment depends on the substances involved, the operating conditions and the hazardous area classification. To assess your project, we need to understand both the installation environment and what happens inside the chamber.
Is an ATEX oven for dust also suitable for gases or solvents?
Not necessarily. Equipment designed for an environment with combustible dust is not automatically suitable for flammable gases or vapours. The configuration and applicable documentation must match the intended use. At Selecta Engineering we develop projects for ATEX equipment for dust and ATEX equipment for gas, depending on the needs of each application.
What industrial drying equipment can you build?
We develop drying ovens, ATEX drying ovens, vacuum dryers and freeze dryers. The right choice depends on the product, the moisture or solvents to be removed, the maximum allowable temperature and the required production capacity. Explore our industrial drying solutions.
Can a drying oven be adapted to the size and load of my product?
Yes. We can design a custom oven based on the working volume, the dimensions of the parts and how they are arranged on trays or trolleys. To size it, we need to know the load per cycle, the operating temperature, the desired drying time and the result you want to achieve. This information allows us to assess the feasibility of the solution.
Do you build equipment for cleanrooms?
Yes. Our projects include OEM autoclaves for cleanrooms with integrated sterile valves and filters. The equipment configuration is defined according to the process and the facility requirements. If you need to integrate equipment into a cleanroom, let us know its classification, the intended use and the cleaning and operating conditions.
What custom laboratory equipment can you develop?
We design and manufacture equipment for processes such as centrifugation, heating, cooling, shaking, mixing, sterilisation, incubation and drying, among others. Our projects include centrifuges, autoclaves, ovens and special reactors. We start from the needs of the laboratory to define the functions, capacity and control of the equipment.
Can you manufacture laboratory equipment under our brand?
Yes. We offer OEM manufacturing, meaning we develop or manufacture equipment that is sold under the customer's brand. We can get involved from the initial idea or join once the design is already defined. The scope of customisation, performance and production is agreed for each project.
Can you build equipment from drawings or an existing design?
Yes. You can entrust us with manufacturing only or ask for support to complete the development. If you already have drawings, specifications or a prototype, we use them as a starting point to assess manufacturing feasibility and define the next steps. We can also work from a need or an initial sketch.
Can the equipment include automation and connect to our systems?
We develop PLC-based control, using a programmable logic controller tailored to the process. Depending on the project, it can include process recipes, alarms, data logging and a touchscreen. We also study connectivity with your systems and integration of the equipment into a production line, defining the required interfaces in advance.
How much does custom equipment cost and what is the lead time?
Price and lead time depend on the complexity of the equipment, its capacity, materials, automation, the number of units requested and the testing and documentation requirements. After reviewing the project, we prepare a proposal with the scope, cost and expected timeline. If you have a target date, it is best to mention it from the start.
What information do you need to prepare a quote?
To get started, tell us what product or material you will process, what result you are looking for, the required capacity and the operating conditions. Available dimensions, expected quantities and any drawings or specifications are also helpful. If the project involves an ATEX zone or a cleanroom, include its requirements. You can send us the information through the contact form, even if you only have an initial idea.
